Bembridge Gift Fair Cheque Presentation

£21,000 raised at Mountbatten’s annual Gift Fair

A record £21,000 was raised at this year’s Mountbatten Gift Fair in Bembridge.

Shoppers flocked to Bembridge Sailing Club last month, where more than 25 boutique and high-end stalls sold unique gifts for Christmas.

Stallholders donated ten per cent of their profits, alongside a raffle and other donations, helping to raise the record total for Mountbatten.

Poncia: A great turnout over the two days
Rosamond Poncia, of the Gift Fair Committee, said,

“We had a great turnout over the two days of the fair, with Islanders showing their support for the remarkable work Mountbatten does in our community.

“I am so grateful to our generous sponsors, stallholders and a wonderful group of volunteers for making it possible to donate £21,000. Thank you so much.”

Hartley: Donations like this really help us make a difference
Mountbatten CEO Nigel Hartley recently received the cheque from the Gift Fair committee. He said,

“We are incredibly grateful for this amazing donation. This support from the Gift Fair committee is really appreciated by everyone at Mountbatten.

“The demand for our services is growing all the time, so donations like this really help us make a difference to the increasing number of people on the Island who need us.”

The Gift Fair was supported by sponsors Spence Willard, Rouse Intelligent Financial Planning, Wightlink, Weaver Brothers Ltd, Nosy Marketing, Kendalls Fine Art, and Coast & Country Marquees.

James: Delighted event has been such a huge success
