A national hotel chain is in the early stages of the planning process to build an 81-room hotel in Lake.
Premier Inn are planning to invest £5,000,000 in the project, that would see a new hotel on the Merrie Gardens site, just up from Morrisons.
Should the plans go ahead, it’s thought up to 24 jobs would be created and the hotel open for summer 2015.
A spokesperson for Whitbread Hotels & Restaurants told OnTheWight.
“We are working on a planning application for Newport Road in Lake and would welcome the opportunity to bring new investment, jobs and facilities to the town.
“It’s early in the planning process but we hope we can work with everyone with an interest in the proposals to develop the best scheme and bring a new Premier Inn to Lake in the near future.”
