During Storm Eunice and the beginning of Storm Franklin, from Friday morning to Monday morning, Island Roads had a total of 224 reported storm related highway issues.
They took 333 calls in total, but some of these were duplicate reports or unrelated to the storms.
Of these 83 related to trees/heavy branches that had come down and needed to be cleared from the highway.
Still closed
As of now, the sites which are still shut are:
- Watergate Lane due to a leaning tree
- Manor Road footpath (behind Big Mead), Shanklin which will likely stay shut until Wednesday due to the number of mature trees down
- Egypt Hill in Cowes where there is an issue with the hoarding on a construction site
