Following on from an appeal in 2022, the Laptops for Ukrainians scheme has issued a fresh appeal for donations of laptops and tablets to support Ukrainian refugees living on the Island.
The group refurbishes donated devices, ensuring they are clean, secure and fully functional. Volunteers either replace the hard disk or wipe it before reinstalling fresh software.
Helping refugees stay connected
The laptops and tablets provide an essential link for refugees to stay in touch with family and friends back home, via Zoom and Skype.
For many Ukrainians who have relocated to the Isle of Wight, these devices offer a crucial way to maintain connections and access online services.
How to donate
The group is urging Islanders to check their cupboards for unused devices that could be repurposed for this cause.
Those wishing to donate can contact Roger directly by calling (01983) 822 900 or 07732 480 201.
Alternatively, Jacqui can be reached on 07973 908 786.
