Homegrown Music Festival 2025: Isle of Wight artists unite for charity

As reported last year, on Saturday 29th March 2025 Homegrown Music Festival will present over eight hours of music and entertainment with all proceeds going to two important Isle of Wight charities.

All of the musicians, artists and production have given their time and resources for free. The event is being run by Homegrown Community Events C.I.C., a not-for profit company established for the cause.

This year’s charities are IW Defibrillators and Community Action Isle of Wight.

Norris: Only possible with the support of our sponsors
Phil Norris, Director of Homegrown says,

“Homegrown is all about Island artists raising money for Island causes.

“Running the event has only been possible with the support of our sponsors: Browns Golf, Maher Ross, Richmonds Bakery, Rockhopper Sound, Triple A Records and Willy’s Guitar Shop.”

Food will be available and the bar will be open.

The line-up
On the main stage they will be eight favourites from the Island’s music scene:

  • Feck! a five piece IW folk punk band, playing a selection of songs and tunes from the likes of the Pogues, Wolfstone, Oysterband, Levellers, etc.
  • Ruby and the Diamonds will have you dancing and singing with their beautiful harmonies all sparkling with humour.
  • The Signalmen are a four-piece powerhouse, their music spans decades from the 60s to the present day with a fresh twist. Renowned for their versatility and infectious energy. Keeping crowds on their feet from start to finish.
  • Taboo are a unique five-piece with two lead singers band playing a mix of rock and pop.
  • Real Dead Ringer: The Meat Loaf Show is an authentic, high energy tribute show dedicated to the music of Meat Loaf. It truly is a great night’s entertainment as Real Dead Ringer – The Meat Loaf Show takes you through the decades of Meat Loaf’s greatest hits.
  • Ben Stubbs: A melodic, lyric driven sound heavily influenced by great songwriters like Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Bruce Springsteen, Jack Johnson, Neil Young and John Mayer.
  • Ventnor Darlings, unintentionally innovative, musically adequate, always well dressed. If you’ve seen them before you’ll know what a treat you’re in for.
  • The Ohmz are an eight-piece Reggae/Ska band full of energy, enthusiasm and a sun-kissed outpouring of funk. Who doesn’t love dancing to a brass-section!

Acoustic talent
Providing entertainment during main-stage changeovers they will be some great acoustic music talent playing in the bar area.

  • Bethan John sings acoustic classics to vocal belting known hits and everything in between. A voice and performer not to be missed.
  • Malcolm Carlo is a solo artist primarily acoustic, now living and performing on the Isle of Wight after 18 years living and recording on a narrow boat around the London area.
  • Isabella (age 10) and Owen (age 16) ex-students of the sadly-closed Music Craft C.I.C. in Newport.
