The Isle of Wight Athletic Club won a £5,000 grant from England Athletics to refurbish the track at Sandown.
The cleaning of such was recommended on its inspection for suitability for competition.
IWAC along with Ryde Harriers have contributed the extra required which has been carried out by Playdeck a England Athletics accredited provider.
Wightlink have provided free passage for the crew and equipment.
The work now nearing its completion is looking almost as good as it did after its refurbishment for the 2011 Island Games.
