Figures published by the Office for National Statistics show that 1,780 people in the Isle of Wight area were claiming Job Seekers Allowance (JSA) during February 2016.
The figures show a rise of 73 since January 2016, when there were 1,707 JSA claimants, and a decrease of 260 from February 2015 (2,040 claimants).
Of this month’s total amount, 1,180 applicants were male and 600 female.
