Future plans for a change of governance and decision-making was revealed at the first meeting of a new Independent-led Isle of Wight council last night (Wednesday) along with announcements of portfolio appointments.
Jonathan Bacon was elected in 2013 as Isle of Wight Councillor for Brading, St Helens and Bembridge. He was also Executive Member for Children’s Services and Corporate Governance and later became leader of the IWC.
He stood for reelection in 2017 but failed to gain enough votes. He was then elected as an Our Island councillor for Brading & St Helens and joined the Alliance Group to take power of County Hall. He is the Cabinet Member for Environment, Heritage and Waste Management.
