Businesses have hit out against plans to move the taxi rank as part of the £10m Ryde Interchange investment
A new Interchange at Ryde Gateway, where bus, hover, train and catamaran meet gained planning approval in 2006.
It included an iconic, landmark interchange building, however, budgetary changes (due to the financial crisis in 2008) contributed to the project going no further.
A chance to reignite part of the plans arose in 2020 and work is due to begin in early 2021.
