Steve Beynon joined the Isle of Wight council as director of children’s services, but was later appointed as Chief Executive.
Despite stating that he would be retiring in 2012, the former Conservative council chose instead to make his role redundant, resulting in a large pay-out from council budgets.
He resigned from the post in February 2013.
