Addressing key topics: Red Funnel’s Customer Forum focuses on accessibility and service

Red Funnel hosted its second Customer Forum of 2023 at the end of May with a group of Isle of Wight residents.

The event took place at Northwood House and followed on from discussions held at the last Customer Forum in February.

Meet leadership team in person
The Customer Forums are an opportunity for Islanders to meet in person with senior members of Red Funnel’s Senior Leadership Team to ask questions and hear updates from the company.

The May Customer Forum was attended by Fran Collins, CEO, and other Red Funnel team members who manage a wide area of the business, including Customer Services and Communications, Operations, Accessibility, and Onboard services.

Range of topics discussed
The group discussed a range of key topics during the three-hour event, including accessibility, onboard facilities, reliability and customer service.

A summary of the session has been posted online and can be read on the Website.

Collins: We appreciate everyone’s support and input
Chair of the Customer Forum, Fran Collins, CEO of Red Funnel, said,

“Our Customer Forums are valuable events for us as it is essential to take time out from our day jobs and connect with our customers. We appreciate everyone’s support and input and welcome all feedback. We listen carefully and take measures to address any concerns that are raised at these meetings and enjoy sharing our latest news.

“In our October and February Customer Forums, the topic of our proposed upgrades to our port at East Cowes was raised, so I wanted to update you on our progress. I am delighted to share that we have moved to the consultation phase of this project and are looking forward to your feedback on the design. We are working with the Council and other local stakeholders to ensure that these plans align with the Island’s needs and that they support the community. We’re proud to be good neighbours and good residents, and we’re committed to continuous improvement.

“I am also very pleased to share that, in April, we launched our renewed Environmental, Social and Governance strategy, ‘Changing Tides’. This underpins all of our standard policies and procedures, defining how we operate, behave, and report on our performance and demonstrates our accountability for ‘doing the right thing’. Our new strategy focuses on five key areas: People, Communities, Customers, Environment, and Future, and ensures that we will minimise our environmental impact, maximise the support given to the Island community, and operate responsibly.

“Within this, we have launched our Island Ambassador programme, a travel sponsorship programme to champion and support talent from the Island.

“We have also been working with Planet Aware, supporting beach cleans and beach surveys around the Island, in which a number of our team have already taken part with plans for more events to come. We’ll keep you updated on the progress of our plans, and we look forward to hearing from you.”
