Air Ambulance Wins Public Vote For £6,000 Grant

Here’s some good news from the Air Ambulance in their own words – Ed

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance is thrilled to announce that they have been successful in winning one of the three grants of over £6,000 from NatWest Bank, in the NatWest Community Force 2011 vote.

Air Ambulance with Spinnaker TowerChief Executive of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, John Perry said. “This vital service benefits the entire community, and winning this award makes a considerable difference to the sums we must raise each month to keep the Air Ambulance flying and saving lives.

Thanks for the support
“We are enormously grateful to all our supporters who voted for us, because without their support we would not have been in the top three charities to be given this award. Our thanks go to NatWest for their generosity in creating this opportunity.”

The Air Ambulance flies 365 days a year from its Thruxton Airbase, helping sick and seriously injured people throughout our region, taking them to the most appropriate hospital for their needs, and achieving this well within the Golden Hour which is so important to the outcomes for patients.

£110,000 needed every month
The charity receives no government funding, and no funding from the National Lottery for operational costs. To maintain the service the charity must raise in excess of £110,000 every month, and could not do this without the support of you, the people of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, for which they are truly grateful.
