Congratulations to Islander Alan Reed, who last weekend took the title of 2011 British Longboard Union Masters Champion.
Alan managed to fight off stiff competition to take the title at the fourth and final event of the 2011 British National Longboard Championships, held at Gwithian Beach in Cornwall.
If you follow the weather across the rest of the country, you might remember that it was going to be pretty choppy over that way at the weekend. We understand the competition took place in 3ft surf and offshore conditions in the end.
Well done to Alan for this great achievement.
