This coming weekend sees the return of Heritage Open Days.
Ventnor’s very own Alexandra Gardens is taking part in the event, with both No. 3 and No. 5 open to the public.
Both properties will be providing tours of the residences and if the weather is fine, we understand there’ll be serving Pimm’s in the garden.
Blue plaque to be unveiled
The properties will be open 1-5pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Sunday also sees the Ventnor and District History Society unveil of a blue plaque on the corner of Alexandra Gardens and Pier Street.
It commemorates the Old Water Mill that dated back to 1300Ad and remained on the site until 1875.
Entry and tours of the properties are completely free and there’ll also be a chance to buy a copy of the very informative and interesting book on the history of Alexandra Gardens at the event.
