The line-up for Ventnor Day has been finalised – with top bands and entertainers – helping to celebrate Ventnor’s Community Spirit.
This free event takes place at Ventnor Park on 14th August from Noon to 5pm.
Live music
At the Bandstand performers include Greg Barnes, Olly Fry, The Hillmans, The Hooleys, Last Chance City and The Ventnor Darlings.
At the Putting Green you can watch She Shells Shanty Group, Moonshine Border Morris, Wight Variety, Corrinne Atkins and Ventnor Theatre Group.
Stalls
There are many stalls from local and Island based community groups and charities and over 50 arts and craft stalls.
We also welcome The Spyglass Pirate Ship and Barrell Organ, Ventnor Comic Jazz band and a wide range of food and drink, thanks to Lady Scarlett’s Tea Parlour, Lance’s Hot Dogs, Jules Ices, Isle of Wight Barbecue and Tee in The Park.
Children’s Fancy Dress
There will be lots of activities for all ages and at 2pm Ventnor Carnival’s Children’s Fancy Dress.
The event is jointly organised by Ventnor Town Council and Ventnor Carnival Association.
Cockett: It should be a great day for Ventnor
Stephen Cockett, Mayor of Ventnor said,
“Sadly, there is no Carnival this year – 14th August would have been the date of the Illuminated Carnival. We hope that Ventnor Day can invoke the ‘spirit of the Carnival’ and celebrate our amazing community.
“It should be a great day for Ventnor and help raise funds for some great local good causes.”
