Two men are due in court following an investigation into the theft of cooking oil from businesses on the Isle of Wight.
A 20-year-old, of Hertford Road in Enfield, and 45-year-old of Kirkland Drive in Enfield, have been issued a summons to appear at Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (Tuesday 17th October).
They will both face the following charges:
- Theft of used cooking oil from The Fighting Cocks pub on 28 October 2022.
- Attempted theft of used cooking oil from The Chequers Inn on 28 October 2022.
- Theft of used cooking oil from the Culver Haven Inn on 28 October 2022.
- Theft of used cooking oil from The Yarbridge Inn on 28 October 2022.
- Theft of used cooking oil from The Duck in Ryde on 28 October 2022.
- Five counts of fraud by false representation in which it’s alleged that they dishonestly purported to represent official oil collection agents in order to obtain the oil.
