Alleged cooking oil thieves to appear at Isle of Wight Court

Two men are due in court following an investigation into the theft of cooking oil from businesses on the Isle of Wight.

A 20-year-old, of Hertford Road in Enfield, and 45-year-old of Kirkland Drive in Enfield, have been issued a summons to appear at Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (Tuesday 17th October).

They will both face the following charges:

  • Theft of used cooking oil from The Fighting Cocks pub on 28 October 2022.
  • Attempted theft of used cooking oil from The Chequers Inn on 28 October 2022.
  • Theft of used cooking oil from the Culver Haven Inn on 28 October 2022.
  • Theft of used cooking oil from The Yarbridge Inn on 28 October 2022.
  • Theft of used cooking oil from The Duck in Ryde on 28 October 2022.
  • Five counts of fraud by false representation in which it’s alleged that they dishonestly purported to represent official oil collection agents in order to obtain the oil.
