Further to our report yesterday about the suspension of the Floating Bridge affecting Sunday’s Randonee cycle race, John from the Wayfarer Cycle Touring Club has been in touch.
The Floating Bridge is currently out of service for essential maintenance and not due back in service until at least Monday 5th May. Around two thousand cyclists are expected to take part in the cycle race on Sunday, which the Floating Bridge normally provides a vital link for.
Following discussion with the Isle of Wight council, John told OnTheWight,
“We have agreed an alternative route and arrangements with the council.”
The alternative route has been posted to their Website and Facebook page.
