Inspirational endurance swimmer Anna Wardley will later this week (weather permitting) be attempting to swim around the Isle of Wight as part of her Five Island Swim Challenge.
Readers may remember previous articles about Anna Wardley who set herself the challenge of swimming around five Islands; Dragonera (Mallorca), Portsea (Hampshire), Jersey (Channel Islands), Tiree (Inner Hebrides) and the Isle of Wight (Solent) to raise awareness and money – her target a whopping £50,000 – for a range of charities.
30 hour swim
Anna’s swim around the Isle of Wight is expected to take around 30 hours.
Readers may remember the group of women, dubbed The Lovelies, who did the same back in October 2011.
Worthy charities
As well as raising money for the Samaritans and Sail Africa (improving the life chances of disadvantaged young people in Durban through sailing), Anna is also raising money for Isle of Wight charity, the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust.
If you can, please consider donating here.
Best of luck
Assuming the weather is in her favour, Anna will be setting off on Friday (20th September) at 11am.
Best of luck Anna, we hope the weather and tides are kind to you.
