Newport Rowing Club’s crew of Ollie Coulson and Toby Batchelor continued their dominance of the Junior Pairs section of the Hants and Dorset regatta season with another win at the Itchen Regatta.
Over a much shorter course than previous weeks, they were challenged more closely, but they dealt with the wind conditions well and still reached the buoy turn ahead of the competition in both the heat and the final.
They saw a good deal on the Itchen river in the final, taking a course into the middle of the river, but such was their lead they had time to get back inside the bridge pillar to take the hooter well ahead of their opposition.
