Join this year's Armed Forces Day at Eastern Gardens, Ryde, welcoming all supporting charities

Apply now: Limited free spots open for charities at Isle of Wight Armed Forces Day

If you represent a registered charity that supports Armed Forces, then bag a place at this year’s Armed Forces Day, ASAP.

Armed Forces Day is at the glorious beachside location of Eastern Gardens in Ryde on Sunday 25th June.

Dore: There’s no cost involved
Councillor Ian Dore, Armed Forces Day committee chair and Isle of Wight Armed Forces Champion, said,

“First of all, there is no cost involved, that’s not how we roll.

“We already have Veterans Outreach Support, the Royal British Legion, and several others, but we wouldn’t want people to miss out.

“Registered charities that support the Armed Forces are invited to apply for a space, pitching up, continuing their hard work and enjoying the day.

“There are a couple of spaces available and our ‘2 ice cream’ on the day, Chris, is allocating pitches from this week. If this message is speaking to you, get in touch via the Website ASAP.”

Sir Stevens: We owe a special debt of gratitude to those who risk all for their country
The NHS mental health specialist service Op Courage has confirmed they will be attending, with them recently being present at the Veteran Aware launch at St Mary’s Hospital in Newport.

Op Courage is designed to help serving personnel due to leave the military, reservists, armed forces veterans and their families.

NHS England chief executive, Sir Simon Stevens, said,

“We owe a special debt of gratitude to those who risk all for their country and the NHS is determined to do its part in honouring that.”

Dore: We’ve got a stonking day lined up
Councillor Dore added,

“On occasion, ex-service members and their families need a bit of support, advice, and help.

“This is what these charities exist for. Through their steadfast dedication and hard work, the world is a better place for them.

“If we haven’t spoken already, get in contact as we have a couple of extra pitches on Eastern Gardens reserved. Go to the Website, add your details, press submit, and we can go from there.

“We’ve got a stonking day lined up and we’d love to have you as part of it!”
