Hampshire Constabulary have confirmed to OnTheWight that specialist officers from the mainland were transported by Hampshire Constabulary Marine Unit on Sunday afternoon to support local specialised officers in response a report of a man in a car with a gun in East Cowes.
The call came in at 5.23pm on Sunday (9th March) and officers subsequently stopped a vehicle carrying three people on Beatrice Avenue.
BB guns found
According to the police, two BB guns were recovered from the car.
They say no threats had been made and following a discussion with the officers no further action will be taken against the people in the car.
