This year’s Isle of Wight Grand National & Ashey Scurry, which was due to take place this Sunday has been postponed.
The land that was going to be used at West Ashey Farm for the Isle of Wight Grand National & Ashey Scurry this year has become water-logged after the heavy rain last night.
Honorary Secretary, Caroline Cooper, told VB, “With the heavy rain yesterday and rain a couple of days before, we thought it might just be a bit too much. The going could have been too heavy for the horses and getting traffic in and out might have caused some problems.”
Instead the event has been shifted to 18th April.
Updated details for the Ashey Scurry are OnTheWight.
Dinner still on tonight
We had wondered if the Pre Scurry Supper had moved too, but Jayne Willett, one of the organisers, tells us today that it is still going ahead this evening.
A few tickets are still available. Contact the Priory Bay for details.
The event starts at 7.30pm for 8pm at the Priory Bay Hotel, Seaview PO34 5BU.
