What started as an ambitious plan to save just one locomotive and a few carriages from destruction has grown into an initiative that is now a major Island attraction enjoyed by over 100,000 visitors each year.
The only distillery on the Isle of Wight has teamed up with The National Museum of the Royal Navy to produce a unique Navy Strength Gin, some of which will be aged in oak from HMS Victory itself.
Fishermen say the Tidal Energy Centre, planned to be built within sight of St Catherine’s lighthouse, may decimate the town’s important fishing industry.
