The event is a chance for veterans and their families to meet NHS staff trained to be aware of veteran’s needs and find out how this will improve the care they receive
In order to maintain safety of services, some planned surgical activity has been postponed, but cancer treatment and urgent operations will continue to be prioritised, as well as people who have already had long waits for their treatment
They say that in departments where immunocompromised patients are treated, the need for face coverings continues, but not in other parts of the hospital
Louise Walker from the Ambulance Service said the Ryde Beach Lifeguard team "truly is an asset to our Island community" and that their "ongoing training, safety awareness and prevention programmes are highly commendable"
The hospital is only able to treat people with life threatening conditions and injuries, so anyone who arrives without a life-threatening condition or injury will be redirected to alternative services
There are three full wards of people being cared for in hospital who do not need to be there. Some people have declined social care placements because they don't want to travel between towns to visit their relatives
