If you’re a business based in Ventnor, why not join forces with other like-minded businesses to help improve Ventnor’s economy. Linda Chester from the Ventnor Business Association has more detail. Ed
January and February is hibernation time for many business – time to have a break, refurbish, stock take and take stock.
So now is a really good time Ventnor Business Association (VBA) to do the same!
Back to basics
VBA needs new members to flourish and to do so, we believe, it needs to shake off its image of being a “shopkeepers” forum.
We need to go back to basics and the stated Aims of VBA which are:
- To protect and enhance the sustainability of Ventnor’s economy by promoting the local trading area.
- To support other organisations (including the town council) who are working in the interest of Ventnor and its community.
In Ventnor we are fortunate to have a unique and vibrant “trading area” and business community – made up of not only a town centre with a high proportion of independent, owner run shops and a wide range of eateries but also – an exquisite seafront with ditto – a wealth of quality hotels, B&B and self-catering accommodation – plus a variety of home-based service businesses, all contained within its perimeter.
All the very qualities and attributes, in fact, that Mary Portas is recommending town centres need for their revival – we have them already and more!
Invitation to share ideas
We are sure that there is much more that can be done and truly feel that, with a thriving Business Association, this is achievable.
With this in mind, we invite you to The Royal Hotel (Albert Room) on Tuesday 6 March at 6.30 p.m.
– To share ideas for taking VBA forward
– To renew and sign up for new membership and
– To elect a new Management Committee to steer the VBA through the coming year.
Light refreshments will be served.
