Be a part of the solution for vulnerable families on the Isle of Wight with a community grant

The Isle of Wight Council is encouraging community and voluntary organisations, as well as local councils, to apply for grants aimed at supporting vulnerable individuals and families in their communities.

A total of £240,000 has been made available to fund initiatives that provide food, utilities, and warmth to those in need.

Cllr Debbie Andre, Cabinet member for children’s services, stated,

“I’m glad we can offer funding to organisations who are helping families and individuals experiencing financial hardship.

“By working with partner organisations to deliver a range of schemes we aim to reach as many Island residents as possible.”

Assisting vulnerable households
The grants are being funded by the Household Support Fund, provided by the Department for Work and Pensions to assist vulnerable households with the costs of food and energy bills.

In addition to the grants, the council is also developing a range of supportive measures to help residents struggling financially.
