Becky Cook competing on her mountain bike

Becky Cook celebrates 20 years of success with Wightlink support

One of the most successful sports stars that the Isle of Wight has ever produced is celebrating two decades of her partnership with Wightlink… and she is showing no signs of slowing down.

Although Becky Cook has now switched from trials motorcycles to the pedal power of mountain bikes, the Island rider is still piling up the medals at national and international level.

Now, Becky is sharing a series of pictures highlighting her successes on two wheels over the past 20 years.

As a trials rider from a very young age, Becky really took to off-road motorcycling and was five times Vice World Champion, European champion in 2012 and claimed eight British titles, as well as helping Team GB to seven Trial Des Nations victories.

Mountainbiking champion
When she turned her attention to mountain biking in 2016, the success just kept coming. Becky was crowned British champion in 2016 and achieved multiple top ten finishes in the Enduro World Series.

She also gained silver (2019) and bronze (2022) representing Team GB in the Trophy of Nations event.

Closer to home, Becky has won multiple national and regional races.

Cook: The support I have received from Wightlink has made life so much easier
Wightlink has been backing Becky for 20 years and she is proud to have the link with the ferry company.

Last year she also had the great honour of representing the Isle of Wight at the Island Games in Guernsey in the mountain bike cross-country event.

She says,

“Competing across the globe in two great sports has been amazing but the support I have received from Wightlink has made life so much easier.

“I’ve done more UK races this year but I’m off to France this week for the next round of the Enduro World Cup.

“I’m also hoping to race in the first ever UCI Enduro World Championships later in the year.”

Williams: She really is a star
Wightlink Head of Marketing David Williams says,

“We are delighted with the achievements of every Islander we support, but as Becky has been with us a long time and has brought back so many medals and trophies, she really is a star.”
