We heard some mutterings last week of Ben Fogle sipping champagne in Ventnor, but weren’t quite sure what it was in aid of.
Well, an article in The Sunday Telegraph today reveals all.
It appears that Ben, a member of the very exciting Cordon Rouge Club, was at the annual meeting of the club, which was being held in none other than sunny old Ventnor. And where better!
The Club was set up last year and features a number of sports people and adventurers such as Tom Avery, Charley Boorman, Dee Caffari MBE, Mike Golding, David Hempleman-Adams and even Sir Robin Knox-Johnston as well as our very own daughter of the Island Dame Ellen MacArthur.
Why Ventnor?
Well the team were in the middle of a sea kayaking race in aid of the RNLI when Ben and his fellow Club members took a break to enjoy some crab sandwiches and champers on the beach.
