Each year at Bestival there seem to be more and more festival-goers capturing those magic moments on their cameras, phones and video cameras.
Although we take our own shots (those to come later) and we also have the lovely Annie Leonard shooting for us, we love spotting talent.
This year, we bumped into Tim Ferguson whilst he was shooting around the festival and asked if he’d like to share them with VB readers.
He was happy to do and even wrote a short review of his festival experience. We have several galleries of Tim’s to come, so keep an eye out in the near future.
The not-so-Best-ival (the name asked for it)
Findings of an infrequent festival goer intent on not-loving it, but trying to have an open mind regardless. The pros
The beautiful green fields of Robin Hill, Arcadia stage sound system, Castle in the Sky, flags, small stages, Pieminster, Sun, mud, eco-toilets, staff, recycling, 10:10 commitment, effort, 99% fancy dress participation. Sets by Four Tet, Chrome Hoof, The Cuban Brothers, The Correspondants, Gaslamp Killer, Mary Anne Hobbs, Gil Scott Heron, Villagers. The cons
Sound bleed – too many persistent sound sources/stages, the ill-mannered, eco intentions overrun by littering public, getting to (+8hrs), leaving (+5hrs), tonsil/bronchitis, horse poo-smelling mud, rain, too many people, too much walking.
Below is the first couple of Tim’s galleries that we’ll be featuring on VB. Keep an eye out in the near future for further shots. Make sure you check out Tim’s photo blog. He’s got a fantastic portfolio of images.
