Bestival 2015: The Zombie Love In takes to the Sugar Skulls Stage

You can always rely on Bestival to deliver something different. As well as all the other great non-headline act stuff you can see, there’ll be some homegrown zombie talent on offer too. Ed

Ghoulish groovers are invited to hit the dance floor as the Zombie massive large it up at Bestival.

For four and half hours of funky fuelled, floor filling, hands in the dance floor devastators, the Sugar Skulls Stage plays host to the Zombie Love In.

Zombie crew, waiting for you
Hosted by Ian ‘Knocka’ Dore, Dan Gaches and DJ AB, the Zombie Love In has all the hallmarks of being an essential part of this year’s Bestival. Music-wise expect a backbone of funky tunes (predominantly vinyl) with some classic limbs in the air tracks thrown in for good measure, ensuring a roof raising soiree.

Ian said,

“All this came about as Rob (da Bank) and I had been chatting about it for a couple of years, but until now there hasn’t been an appropriate time for Zombies to be ‘raving the dead’. We thought it would be a giggle to get some zombies grooving with a Love In so here we are.”

Park of the Dead
The Zombie Love In features over 20 of the characters from the uber popular, top ten UK Halloween event, Park of the Dead and is already on some Bestival goers hit list as a ‘must attend’ party.

Ian added,

“Although featuring the characters, it’s not a Park of the Dead event as clearly they are polar opposites. What we’ve done here is mash it up a bit, created a synergy with the Sugar Skulls concept and as it’s all about escapism, it’s another Bestival belter.

“The other DJs and Park of the Dead crew are really looking forward to it and we all hope you come and enjoy our excitement, get dressed up and try and use the word ‘Ghoulies’ as much as possible.”

The Sugar Skulls stage is brand new to Bestival this year and The Zombie Love In is the finale of Saturday’s proceedings with the undead groovers and shakers finishing things up at 3am.

Ian finished by saying,

“I’ve been fortunate enough to be involved from the outset with Bestival and it’s an honour to be part of this unique family. This will be my 8th time playing and for a home grown DJ to be spinning on home turf, with his best friends, at the best festival the UK has to offer; it really is a treat and something very special that isn’t taken for granted.”
