P-Funk was his cry (formed from the combination of Parliament and Funkadelic)
Gotta say I’m taken aback by his website, which has aliens popping out from every corner on it. I’d prefer to remember him by the dog earred album covers, taken out many a time when we’ve had a few friends back and felt like spinning a bit of the old vinyl and having a funk out.
But let’s not worry about all that, the king of funk is coming to the Wight.
If George and his gang are new to you, you might fancy getting a bowl of popcorn and settling down and watching a documentry about the kind of funk – forget the others – this is the man.
Just one look at his photo and you want to give the man a huge hug, he’s got one of those irresistible smiles – can’t wait to interview him. Roll on September! [Mind you did find a few pics where he looked like a total loon – but don’t we all at one point or another?]
