Tickets are now available for the next event from Acoustics at the Altar, which features Bex Marshall on 15 August.
Despite the name of the events, for those who think these might be Christian Rock gigs, they are no in any way connected to the Church, other than gratefully making use of the St John’s as a venue. The gigs are organised to raise funds and awareness for The Park Centre in Ryde.
There have been a number of successful gigs held there so far, including PJ Wright, Claude Bourbon and Cathryn Craig & Brian Willoughby.
If you’ve not heard Bex Marshall’s music, it has been described as an explosion of blue-hot acoustic roots rock poker twisted with a whippin’ of bluegrass.
We’re told that Bex Marshall has character and her songs prove it.
An artist of jaw dropping talent; a guitarist with a unique melting pot of a voice Joplin Soul, Bonnie Rait slide and the originality of Memphis Minnie.
