Mark Busby, Commercial Director at Hendy Group, has joined the board as independent director for Blue Lamp Trust (Services) Ltd.
The business is one of the leading providers of training and assessments for taxi licence applicants and private hire car drivers for over 135 licensing authorities. It is wholly owned by the personal and road safety charity, The Blue Lamp Trust.

Announcing the appointment, Chair of Trustees, Graeme Hobbs, said,
“Mark has worked for Hendy Group for more than twenty years and is a founding trustee of the Hendy Foundation.
“Hendy Group have been a longstanding supporter of the Blue Lamp Trust, so we are incredibly proud that Mark has agreed to lend his considerable knowledge and skills gained in the automotive industry, to inform our strategy to keep drivers and their passengers or cargo, safe on the road, which also provides sustainability to the charity in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.”
What is the The Blue Lamp Trust?
The Blue Lamp Trust trading arm provides taxi assessments for new drivers nationwide and delivers a suite of training to professional drivers, helping to keep everyone safer on the roads. All profit is donated to Blue Lamp Trust which works collaboratively with the emergency services to support the vulnerable and victims of crime to feel safe in their homes.
Employing a team of Safety Technicians who visit to deliver practical assistance in the form of locks, alarms and fire safety checks – the charity mainly helps older people, carers and victims of domestic abuse. The charity also helps victims of cybercrime to protect themselves from further attack via a team of digital volunteers.
