Two people were rescued from a burning boat off the coast of Bonchurch this morning.
After a Mayday call at around 10.30am, a number of other rescue vessels rushed to the scene where the boat was well alight, with large plumes of black smoke drifting into the sky.
Bembridge RNLI were in attendance, as well as Sandown and Shanklin Independent lifeboats and the Coastguard helicopter.
The Marine Traffic App indicated that a lifeboat from Poole was also in attendance. Two people were rescued from the burning craft.
All rescue vessels have now left the scene and the boat eventually sank.
