Ventnor’s very own one man movement, Ergo Phizmiz, is teaming up with the wonderful People Like Us for a night of musical chaos, comedy and absurdity at Quay Arts on Friday 23 June.
Labelled as two of “the world’s leading practitioners of plunderphonics”, Ergo Phizmiz and People Like Us are working on an exclusive and brand new up live set.
Ladies, dust down your cocktail dresses, because these magicians of sillness will be using vintage turntables (gramophones?) and mashing it up to the sound of traditional ballroom music.
If you like what your hear, you’ll be able to take some home with you too, as there’s a free CD for all.
Sounds like a bonkers night and if you don’t have to rush off afterwards to catch the bus, stick around to ‘meet the artists’ and discuss the merits of 78s to 7″s, over the backdrop of music from DJ Bill Room (aka Planck).
If all of that isn’t enough to tickle your fancy then you can take advantage of a special drinks promotion (that means cheap booze) not sure what it is though.
