Briddlesford Farm cream tea raises nearly £1,200 for Home-Start families in need

The annual Briddlesford Farm cream tea, for supporters of Island charity Home-Start, raised nearly £1,200 for families and young children.

The tea was hosted by Judi Griffin, of Briddlesford Farm, who is Patron of Home-Start, and was attended by High Sheriff Jaqueline Gazzard. Alison Griffiths and the Home-Start staff team welcomed volunteers and trustees, past and present, and many friends and supporters, both old and new.

Supporting Island families since 1997
Home-Start IW has been supporting Island families since 1997, offering practical help and emotional support to families with young children.

Many parents struggle with the challenges of family life and Home-Start matches families with a trained volunteer, who visits families for a couple of hours each week offering practical help and emotional support.

Extra pair of hands and a listening ear
An extra pair of hands and a listening ear are provided by Home-Start, at a time when both are often sorely needed.

Together with providing support in the home, Home-Start also run invite-only groups for parents and their children to attend together, which gives mums and dads the opportunity to have fun, support their child’s development and make connections with other parents.

Griffiths: A highlight of our year
Alison Griffiths, Scheme Manager from Home Start said,

“The Briddlesford Cream tea is a highlight of our year. We were absolutely delighted to see so many friends and supporters on the day raising a fantastic £1,169!

“A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and to the amazing team at Bluebells for the delicious cream tea. Your kindness will make such a difference to the families we support. “
