Bryony Davies Runs For Endo UK

Endometriosis disease affects 1 in 10 women in the UK. Bryony Davies who lives on the Isle of Wight is one of 2 million suffering from it. 80% of us will never have heard of it, even though it’s just as common as Diabetes.

Bryony Davies Runs For Endo UK Next month, Bryony aims to run the Asics 10k London Race in July to raise money for Endo UK.

Symptoms
Symptoms can be as minimal as a slight discomfort to pelvic pain which makes normal life virtually impossible. On average, it takes a woman 8 years to be diagnosed, and 40% of sufferers are infertile.

Unfortunately, as of yet, there is no cure.

Bryony’s Story
Bryony is just 21, and was diagnosed with Endo in June 2009. It changed her life dramatically. She’s now on Morphine for pain, and has to have another operation later this year to hopefully relieve her of the pain that makes life so difficult. She’s also on Decapeptyl injections, which, when used chronically, stops the production of Oestrogen in women.

Where Your Money Goes
Endo UK isn’t funded by the government, and therefore needs all the donations it can get.

The charity fund a phone-line for sufferers, hold regional group meetings, and are also committed to raising awareness of the disease in work-places and hospitals.

Many women are unfairly sacked due to their condition, and many who go to their Gynaecologists are told that the pain is in their heads.

Bryony’s target is to raise £400 for Endo UK, and she has currently raised £346. With your help she can reach her target and even beat it. No matter how much or how little, you could make a difference and help Endo UK to find a cure.
