Most of the top windows on the driver’s side of a Southern Vectis bus were broken at around mid-day today, after it collided with scaffold outside a shop in Ventnor.
We were alerted to it by Rob Hearne, who said, “Island bus breaks windows on scaffolding in Ventnor High street. Lucky worker’s on scaffold unhurt.”
This was swiftly followed by a Tweet by Adrian at Church Street Motorcycles who happened to be driving behind the bus, “@onthewight A Southern Vectis bus just took out most of its top windows on the scaffold opposite @Phileas_Foggs.”
Glass fell to pavement
We understand from Adrian that the glass fell out of the bus windows on to the pavement below.
When we asked Adrian what kind of a sound it made, he said “Loud!”
We believe that no-one was hurt.
We’ve contacted Southern Vectis and are awaiting their response.
