The Isle of Wight Fire Service crews have had a busy day today. They’ve attended one fire and two road traffic incidents (RTI).
The fire was at GKN Aerospace in East Cowes. They were called at 13.19 to deal with a fire in one of the work benches. Two appliances attended and the stop notice was received by 13.56.
The first RTI took place in Avenue Road in Sandown just before noon today (11.47am). An elderly man was assisted out of a car that’d hit a building. The building and car were left in a stable condition and fire crew handed over to the police.
A little later (12.08pm) crews were called an RTI in Mill Hill Road in Cowes involving a 4×4 vehicle and a dustcart. There was one male casualty who left the scene in an ambulance.
