Steve Beynon, the Returning Officer for Isle of Wight Council elections has announced that the by-election to fill the vacant seat in the Binstead & Fishbourne electoral division will be held on Thursday 23 June 2011.
The deadline for submission of nomination papers is noon on Thursday 26 May 2011, and papers may be obtained from Electoral Services, County Hall, Newport, PO30 1UD or by emailing [email protected]
Electors who wish to amend a proxy vote, or to apply for or amend a postal vote must do so before 5pm on Wednesday 8 June 2011. The last date to apply for a new proxy vote is 5pm on Wednesday 15 June 2011.
There will be two polling stations open from 7am – 10pm on 23 June.
These are the Royal Victoria Yacht Club in Fishbourne Lane and the Binstead Methodist School Room in Chapel Road, Binstead.
The count will be held straight after the close of poll at the Binstead Methodist schoolroom.
