Yeah, yeah, yeah it’s more Camp Bestival news. As well as all the music, fun and frolics, this year there’s also a talent competition of those of the folk persuasion.
Step aside Simon Cowell as the Camp Bestival crew team up with the great minds behind Folk Idol.
As you might’ve guessed, Folk Idol works on a similar basis to Pop Idol, and on the Saturday of Camp Bestival 10 lucky folky types will have the chance to perform on the bandstand in the kids field.
There’ll be scored by a panel of judges (with some audience participation we expect) as they perform their cover version of a classic folk song whilst sporting a beard (if you start growing one now – it should be suitably bushy by July)
How to enter
For your chance to play head over to Folk Idol MySpace, make friends and then introduce yourselves, saying that you’d like to enter the Folk Idol competition at Camp Bestival.
Rob da Bank will then check out your MySpace pages and pick his favourite three.
