The strong winds have not only affected cross-Solent travel today, several trees have come down in the wind.
Fire crew are currently at Park Avenue in Ventnor, where a tree has fallen across the road and onto a car.
The crew are currently working hard to remove the tree and provide access through the road.
In Yarmouth, a tree fell in the High Street, blocking the road and a large branch fell from a tree in Clarence Road, Wroxall causing an obstruction on one side of the road. Both of these have since been cleared and the roads are passable.
The CP also reported earlier that a fallen tree, blocking the entrance to St Mary’s Hospital, has now been removed.
