The campaign to save the ice rink at Ryde Arena is gathering pace.
Following last night’s Steering Committee meeting, Robin Crossley has been able to update supporters.
He says,
“A newly formed business, Ryde Arena Trust Ltd was created as a properly constituted Company Ltd by Guarantee. With that in place we can now and are in the process of formally contacting Mike Petrouis of Planet Ice to take over the ice rink, again this will take time and there are no guarantees that we will be successful, but we have and continue to do our best to secure the future of our Island’s rink.
“We cannot work in isolation and need our community to help us go forward with the Trust, as a result we need to raise an initial cash pot, we are putting the mechanism in place to be able to take donations.
“More information will become available over the next few days.”
