Carnival fever is in the air and it’s not surprising given tonight sees Sandown celebrate 125 years since its very first Sandown carnival in 1889.

All are welcome to this free, family-friendly event that takes place on Sandham Grounds, Culver Parade, Sandown from 6pm tonight.

The line-up
There’ll be live music from VOXPOP rock choir, singing ‘the soundtrack of your life’.

Also providing live musical entertainment will be four-piece Isle of Wight band, Juicebox, who, we’re told, will be singing everything from Rihanna to the Rolling Stones making sure there’s something for everyone.

And of course, there’ll be the crowning of the 2014 Sandown Carnival Queens.

Firework finale
For the evening’s finale, there’ll be a spectacular firework display at around 10pm.

Why not take along a blanket and a picnic to enjoy during the evening. Or is you prefer, there’ll be food vendors will be on site.
