Island Line is having one of its rare timetable changes from 17 May to restore most of the connections lost when Wightlink changed their FastCat timetable at the end of March.
Trains from Shanklin to Ryde will be speeded up by 3 minutes to give more time for the connection at Ryde Pier and this will also improve the daytime connection times at Shanklin from the Ventnor buses.
Last train earlier
The Monday to Saturday evening timetable is completely revised after eight o’clock, again to restore connections, but this means that the last trains in both directions will run 18 minutes earlier than at present.

It will also have the unfortunate result that evening trains will no longer connect at Shanklin with buses to and from Ventnor so, if you’re just travelling on the Island during the evening, it will save a long wait if you use Southern Vectis bus service 3 for the whole journey.
