Farrukh Younus and friends will be doing a coastal walk this weekend in support of the charity, Wateraid.
They will be walking from Sandown to Ryde on Saturday. Starting at 11.15am, the walk forms part of Wateraid’s annual Coastalong initiative.
Farrukh and friends would welcome some company on the walk, so invite anyone who’d like to join them to get in touch.
How to take part
So long as you’re healthy and able to walk at a steady pace. The group is made up of a variety of professionals, doctors, teachers and students in their mid-30s.
Along the way, the team will be creating digital content, photos and video clips of the route which they plan to put on-line and distribute to support Wateraid.
If you have any tips of good spots along the route to film (all of it we reckon), leave a comment below.
Wateraid are asking walkers to raise £50 each however, Farrukh suggests anyone who would like to join them, make whatever donation with a minimum of £5. It can be made directly to Wateraid, or through Just Giving.
Free promotion for supporters along the way
Farrukh tells us that any shops, cafes or retailers along the route who provide the group of walkers with e.g. free drinks, snacks, meals, other, will be included in their coverage.
This is a friendly relaxed stroll with a break in Bembridge for lunch.
If anyone’s interested they can email Farrukh on [email protected] or through Twitter @swamibu.
