Sad news to hear about the death of Cllr Brain Mosdell who passed away this morning.
He had suffered a short illness and had the benefit of having his family around him during his last hours.
He impressed us with the conviction of his beliefs, never afraid to speak out in situations where he felt wrong was at foot, even if he stood alone.
An accomplished orator, he always presented his points with good humour.
Cllr Mosdell He represented the Newchurch Ward from 5th May, 2005.
Originally a Conservative, he relinquished the current Conservative Leadership Whip and became a member of the Non Aligned Group along with other Conservative councillors, as he said he had “concerns about a number of issues which I found myself unable to support.” He also contributed to the Non Aligned Group blog.
Educated at local schools, he joined the Royal Navy aged 15, spending many years in the service.
