Earlier today it was announced that Cllr Phil Jordan had stepped aside from the Executive for personal reasons.
Police have confirmed that Philip Jordan has been charged with driving whilst exceeding the legal alcohol limit and will appear in court on 13th December.
OnTheWight wouldn’t normally report personal matters such as this, but as Cllr Jordan’s role was officially involved in the Road Safety Forum, we feel this passes into Public Interest.
Jordan: “Sincerely apologise”
This evening Cllr Jordan told OnTheWight,
“I sincerely apologise to everyone affected by this. I made a mistake, a miscalculation and an error of judgement for which the Courts will decide my fate and penalty.
“I have stepped aside from all executive roles as a result of this.
“In no way do I support drinking and driving and fully support the Courts in their dealing with these charges.”
Comments have been turned off to avoid sub judice ahead of the upcoming court case.
