Councillor for Cowes South and Northwood, John Nicholson, has three motions on the agenda for this week’s full council meeting.
They are certainly a mixed bag; how to achieve efficient policing of the Island; promoting the native alcohol producers; recognition for alternative health.
Cllr Nicholson proposes:
(i) That the Isle of Wight Council open dialogue, at an appropriate level, with our local police force to discover what effect the proposed police service funding cuts will have on the operation and resourcing of policing on the Isle of Wight.
Also, to explore what help and contingency we, as a Council, might be able to instigate or assists with, in order to ensure effective policing of our community is best maintained, as well as to assist in addressing our mutual financial pressures.
(ii) That the Isle of Wight Council recognise and encourage meaningful and inclusive representation, at an appropriate level, of the Isle of Wight Complementary and Alternative Medicine services in its health and wellbeing considerations.
(iii) That the Isle of Wight Council actively promote its native drinks industry at functions and in hospitality, as the prime featured alcoholic refreshment.
